2 overturned tractor-trailers create traffic nightmare in Scott County
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WDKY) - An overturned tractor-trailer on Interstate 64 is causing a major slowdown for east and westbound traffic.
The wreck happened at the 69 mile marker near the Paynes Depot Road exit. Scott County authorities say boxes are scattered across the road, which could cause the highway to close for a significant amount of time.
A man and woman were in the tractor-trailer at the time of the wreck. The woman was driving, and the man was in the sleeper part of the cab. The driver was taken by medical helicopter to UK Hospital. We are working to learn more about her condition.
At the northern split, the ramp from southbound Interstate 75 to westbound Interstate 64 is shut down. Interstate 64 westbound is shut down with all traffic being diverted to Interstate 75 northbound.
Versailles police have shut down eastbound Interstate 64 traffic at exit 65.
Another tractor-trailer has also overturned on Paynes Depot Road near the Interstate 64 wreck. Traffic in that area is now backed up, as the road was being used as a detour.
