LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – You can make Earth Day every day thanks to the Fayette County Conservation District, and the nonprofit Trees Lexington.

The conservation district is offering a free tree giveaway on Saturday and Sunday.

Up to five trees can be picked up at the Lexington Farmer’s Market downtown on Saturday, or at the Farmer’s Market on Southland Drive on Sunday.

According to a Facebook post, trees will include Shumard oaks, bald cypress, eastern white pine, Washington hawthorn, and buttonbush (a large shrub).

Another tree giveaway is being offered Saturday by the Trees Lexington. This giveaway is from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Greyline Station, 101 West Loudon Avenue.

Trees Lexington is offering a selection of around 20 trees including redbuds, serviceberries, tulip poplars, and Kentucky coffeetrees. They are offering up to 2 trees per Fayette County address.
