LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – A new exercise and gaming option is coming to Lexington.

The interactive gaming experience, Activate Games, is hosting a grand opening event from May 6 to 8. Currently, Louisville is home to another Activate Games as well as one in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

“We are excited to be opening our second facility in Kentucky and our third location in the US,” Bryce Anderson, owner of Activate Games, said in a news release. “Lexington is our home and headquarters. The community has welcomed our other ventures, Breakout Games, Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt and Vinaigrette Salad Kitchen, with open arms and we are confident Activate Games will be met with the same excitement.”

Activate Games offers a fusion of technology and physical activity to create live-action gaming, according to a news release.

The games offered are meant to test the physical and mental agility of teams’ and individuals’ across a wide variety of real-life challenges.

The physical arcade offers multiple games where the players will run, jump, crawl and shoot with several levels each increasing in difficulty.

“Activate Games has a variety of gaming rooms including Hoops, Push, Hide, Laser, Grid, Trench, Pipes, Climb and much more. An electronic wristband tracks participants’ score and progress throughout the experience making it perfect for a casual night out or intense competition,” reads the news release.

Like any arcade, you will be able to collect points and gain rewards. An electronic wristband is given to players to track scores and progress and allows you to save progress from one visit to another.
