LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – A house fire burned at a Lexington home near Maxwell Street Tuesday.

The fire began around 2:32 p.m. on Merino Street, according to a bystander. Firefighters said they were at the house within a few minutes of the call.

The road is currently closed at the intersection of Merino Street and West Maxwell Street in Lexington, said Lexwreckes. Traffic conditions can be viewed here.

The fire was extinguished at around 3:30 p.m.

FOX 56’s Georgiaree Godfrey was on Merino Street.

Firefighters told FOX 56 that no one was home when the fire began, but firefighters were able to salvage some belongings from the home.
