Annual gingerbread competition kicks off in Millersburg, Ky.

BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Last night was the 3rd annual gingerbread competition at the historic Mustard Seed Hill venue in Millersburg, Ky.

Professional bakers, home bakers, and children made up the 62-person competition field that gathered to submit their gingerbread creations.

Those participating poured in a great deal of effort to create some unfathomable structures from pieces of the infamous holiday treat.

Among the entries were houses dinosaur, Spongebob, and Nightmare Before Christmas-themed.

“Tonight we are tasked with trying to judge the best ones and it is next to impossible because every one of these gingerbread houses, from the youth, up to the adults, up to chefs are fabulous, it’s really hard to do,” said Betty Ann Allen from the Bourbon-Paris Tourism Commission.

Those wishing to visit the display of gingerbread houses can do so at Mustard Seed Hill from Nov. 26 – Dec. 23.
