ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (WDKY) – Another Kentucky man is behind bars after police say he shot video of customers in the men’s restroom of a Walmart.
WDRB reports Matthew Spilman, 29, of Brandenburg was arrested Thursday after receiving a report from a juvenile store employee who said he pointed a phone over the top of a stall.
The employee told police he was in the stall for “several hours.”
Police made contact with Spilman, who told officers the reason he was in the bathroom for so long was because he was talking to friends. Officers noticed Spilman was starting to delete images and videos that appeared to have been taken at the bathroom. They seized the phone, and Spilman admitted his actions.
Spilman also told authorities he shot video at other locations in Elizabethtown in the past.
Spilman is charged with voyeurism and tampering with physical evidence. He is being held on no bond in the Hardin County Detention Center.
This comes in the same week as a Columbia man was arrested for videoing teens in a Walmart men’s bathroom where he worked. Walmart fired that employee shortly after news of his arrest surfaced.
