LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – It’ll be a busy weekend at Rupp Arena as graduates of Fayette County Public Schools (FCPS) celebrate their achievements.

Graduates from Tates Creek High School walked Friday morning. Frederick Douglass was next with their ceremony at 2 p.m., and Lafayette’s graduation was at 6 p.m.

Tates Creek graduated 381 seniors. The graduations have been held at Rupp Arena for more than 40 years. Last year, the event was socially distanced with everyone masked. This year was more like pre-pandemic times.

The FCPS superintendent couldn’t be happier to celebrate the big moment.

“They’ve already done us so proud. This graduating class has been through so much throughout their high school years. They’ve lived through a pandemic, they’ve persevered. Go forth and continue to make us proud,” FCPS Superintendent Demetrus Liggins, said.

Saturday, Henry Clay seniors will graduate at 10 a.m. They’ll be followed by Paul Laurence Dunbar at 2, and Bryan Station at 6 p.m.

Congratulations to all of the graduates!
