LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Camp Bow Wow is finally coming to Kentucky!

On March 28, Camp Bow Wow will be opening its 200th national camp, and first in Kentucky, at 2171 Christian Road in Lexington.

According to a Camp Bow Wow news release, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. with various activities for dogs and dog owners. Event festivities include:

  • A Bone Bar for dogs to grab a treat and add their own toppings
  • Light refreshments and cake for human guests
  • Photo ops with Camp Bow Wow mascot, Scout
  • Tours of the new facility every hour starting at 12 p.m.

Every customer who schedules a camp tour will receive a free day at camp after their dog interview.

Camp Bow Wow is partnering with the Lexington Humane Society and will have an adoptable dog, Oscar, on-site if he isn’t rescued prior to the event.

Camp Bow Wow Lexington East is locally owned by James and Lisa Culp and will offer all-inclusive care for dogs including all-day play, socialization, grooming, and overnight stays.

“As the owners of the first Camp Bow Wow in Kentucky, we look forward to sharing the Camp experience with the Lexington community and introducing them to all we have to offer, including spacious play areas, live webcams for pet parents and so much more,” said Camp Bow Wow Owner James Culp. “As a lifelong dog lover, it is important for us to bring a safe, fun, and enriching facility to the Lexington area. Being the milestone 200th Camp location just makes our opening even more special.”

Camp Bow Wow is the largest doggy daycare and dog boarding franchise in North America, according to the news release.

“Since opening our first camp 22 years ago, we have prided ourselves in providing the highest levels of fun and safety for Campers as North America’s premier doggy day care and boarding franchise,”  said Camp Bow Wow President Julie Turner. “Camp Bow Wow Lexington East is a beautiful facility that will be a valued addition to the local dog-loving community. It’s also an outstanding representation of our growing brand as the first Camp Bow Wow in Kentucky and our 200th location nationwide. We congratulate Lisa and James Culp on their first Camp opening and can’t wait to see their Camp full of happy Campers.”
