Children’s hospital employee faces sex abuse charge in Lexington

Investigators say 45-year-old Heather Jean Seltsam had sex with a minor who is under the age of 16 and exchanged pictures with the child that were of a sexual nature. Lexington Police say the suspect did not come in contact with the victim through her job.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Police charged a 45-year-old Lexington woman with rape. Officers booked Heather Jean Seltsam into the Fayette County Detention Center on Wednesday afternoon. Lexington Police say the suspect did not come in contact with the victim through her job.

Seltsam is due in court on Thursday to answer to charges of 3rd-degree rape, 2nd-degree sexual abuse and prohibited use of electronic communication.

Investigators say Seltsam had sex with a minor who is under the age of 16 and exchanged pictures with the child that were of a sexual nature.

Officials at Kentucky Children’s Hospital confirmed to Fox 56 that Seltsam has worked at the hospital since 1995. They say she is currently on administrative leave.
