LEXINGTON Ky. (FOX 56) – For Common Grounds coffee, the grind has never stopped.

The Lexington-exclusive Common Grounds coffee shop is celebrating 30 years of serving the public by satisfying their caffeine needs. The newest location is at Old Todds road.

The original Common Grounds coffee shop was unfortunately lost due to covid, but a portrait hangs on the wall of the newest location, paying homage to the memories made at the original spot.

So, what’s the secret to 30 years of brewing? The owner of the old Todds road location, Maria Gatz, spilled the beans and said it’s all thanks to local coffee fans who strive to support local businesses.

“We wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for our local coffee shoppers. Coffee is a culture, but local coffee is a signature. It’s been really cool to watch things flourish even in struggles in times where people weren’t able to come to our old coffee house. We’re showing them that they can still come out. Come see us,” Gatz said.
