LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The parking garage in downtown Lexington, which suffered a partial collapse during a winter storm in February, will soon be torn down.
The owner of BB&T Place, Lexington Oppurtunity Fund, LLC, announced Thursday plans to immediately demolish and replace the parking garage.
The company says in a press release the new $8 million parking deck is expected to be completed next summer.
They say other improvements for the plaza are in the planning stage.
Construction crews are back to work Friday morning on stabilizing the parking garage that sustained a partial collapse in downtown Lexington.
