LANCASTER, Ky. (WDKY) – A central Kentucky business is heavily damaged following an early morning fire.

The fire started Friday morning at Rocky Top Log Furniture & Railing on Lexington Road, north of Lancaster in the Bryantsville community. The fire has closed Lexington Road where the furniture store is.

The fire started in what is called the flat shop. Workers noticed the fire and called for help. They believe it started in the dust collection area. From there it spread to a shipping pickup area, but the other facilities were not impacted.

Business owner Laurence Coppedge says the fire departments did an outstanding job containing the fire.

“They doused it with a huge amount of water, and we are just super thankful to the Garrard, Boyle and Jessamine County fire departments for coming into help us,” Coppedge said, “[It’s] a difficult day for us, but we get to see good things about our community, and we sure appreciate all these men and women helping us out.”

No one was hurt in the fire.
