Person found dead at Buds Gun Shop in Lexington; no foul play suspected

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) – Lexington police and the Fayette County Coroner’s Office were called to  Buds Gun Shop Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews responded to the store on Industry Road before 4 p.m.  The coroner’s vehicle arrived minutes later.

Police have confirmed that someone in the store took their own life.

Buds Gun Shop released a statement following the death.

“On behalf of our entire company, I wish to express how deeply saddened we are and offer our sincere condolences to the person’s family,” Director of Outreach, Education, and Training Doug Ramsey said. “In light of what has occurred, we are in the process of requesting counselors to help assess emotional needs of our employees and customers.”

The person who died was not identified.

Buds Gun Shop will remain closed through the weekend.

The store sells firearms, ammunition and accessories. It also has an indoor shooting range. The death occurred at the shooting range.
