Delta flight from Atlanta to Lexington diverted after potential mechanical issue

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) - Delta Airlines has confirmed a flight from Atlanta to Lexington was diverted to Cincinnati after a potential mechanical issue.

Delta says Endeavor flight 3340, which was operating as a Delta Connection from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport to Blue Grass Airport, was diverted to Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.

The flight landed without any incident, and passengers will fly an alternate aircraft.

"The safety of our customers and crew is always our top priority and we apologize for the delay," Delta said in a statement.

The plane had 76 passengers on board the Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft, and it will arrive two hours behind schedule.
