LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Police are investigating a deadly crash in Lexington Wednesday afternoon.
Police say an officer saw what appeared to be a driver passed out behind the wheel on New Circle Road. The officer went to check on the driver, but the person sped off.
That officer radioed it in to dispatch, saying he was not going to chase the car. Around two minutes later, police got a call about a three-car crash at Eastland Parkway and Gayle Drive.
Police say the driver who sped off from New Circle ran a stop sign and was killed in the crash.
A driver of another vehicle involved was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. A third person was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
