Experiments from Lexington company delivered to International Space Station

Several experiments produced by a company from Lexington were delivered to the International Space Station Sunday morning.

The launch from Cape Canaveral Florida on Friday was historic, as the company SpaceX used a recycled rocket.

The Falcon rocket had first flown into space in June.

It carried almost 4,800 pounds worth of supplies and experiments for the International Space Station, including experiments from a company in Lexington.

Space Tango, inc. had several experiments packed in cube labs on the Dragon capsule that successfully docked with the space station early Sunday morning.

One of those experiments was in conjunction with Budweiser. The beer makers sent barley seeds into space to see how they are affected by the environment.

Another involved antibiotics in micro-gravity and could help fight antibiotic resistance.
