GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) – Last week an officer with the Georgetown Police Department was named the staff member of the week at Great Crossing High School.

A statement presumably authored by K-9 Ollie, the recognized officer, was released on Sunday.

“This is an honor and something I’ve dreamed of since I was a puppy. I want to thank Great Crossing High School for recognizing my talent and believing in me. I want to thank The Dog Wizard Frankfort and Tin Woof Inn Frankfort for their training, love, and care. Lastly, I want to thank my family and community; you are my motivation. I’m going home to enjoy these treats and chew on this hippo,” read the Facebook post.

Ollie is a new officer in Georgetown and is already making a name for himself, working regularly with school resource officers in Scott County schools or making public affairs visits around the county.

Ollie’s alma mater, the Dog Wizard Frankfort, congratulated the professional good-boy therapy officer on his early success.

We love getting updates like this. Ollie won the GCHS Staff Member of the Week award for his Therapy Work there. We are so proud of you. Keep up the good work, Officer Martin and Ollie!” they wrote on Facebook.
