GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) – The Georgetown Police Department has announced an app to allow the community to provide crime tips to the department.

Georgetown police said, the app is 100% anonymous and will help them fight crime more effectively.

In a press release, the police department said the app will improve the public’s access to agency alerts, social media channels, and keep everyone informed of incidents occurring in the city.

The Georgetown KY PD app is available for free download on iPhone or Android.

If you don’t have a smartphone you can share information with the police by sending an anonymous text tip by texting TIPGPD and your message/tip to 847411 (tip411).

The tips submitted are not constantly monitored, so please continue to call Georgetown/Scott County 911 center to report any emergency or request an officer.
