BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) – A man is facing multiple charges after a reckless driving traffic stop leads to a high-speed chase, according to the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office.

Boyle County deputies said they tried to pull Christopher Carrico over for speeding. They said the 19-year-old drove off, leading them to chase him.

Deputies said he crashed his car into a creek, then was taken into custody after a “brief struggle.”

Carrico faces charges of reckless driving, fleeing, and wanton endangerment.

Following the events, Boyle County Sheriff’s Office wished the man a Merry Christmas on Facebook.

“This young man could have pulled over at any time throughout this pursuit. Instead, he decided it would be best for him to endanger everyone else on the roadway, civilian and law enforcement,” Boyle County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook. “Even so, we wish him a Merry Christmas and sincerely hope Santa is able to find him at the Boyle County Detention Center tonight.”
