Jim Caldwell's Forecast | Severe storms roll into Kentucky tonight

April 3, 2018

Temperatures soar today and severe storms develop tonight!

A major system will roll in out of the Rocky Mountains later today. Out a head of the cold front we will see winds get gusty and temperatures jump well into the mid and upper 70s. The instability will begin to crank up through the afternoon and evening hours. That's when the cold front joins the party!

Here's what to expect:

- Front presses in late this evening

- Winds become gusty without storms

- A line of strong storms moves in from west to east

- Strong winds around 60 MPH or stronger

- Large hail is a possibility

- Isolated tornadoes

After this system winds down in the early morning hours on Wednesday, temperatures will tank! I think highs will come in around 40-45 degrees. There is also a chance that we track some early morning flakes. That probably isn't that last time we track some flakes. It looks like we see even more by this weekend.
