The KHSAA is a jam-packed agenda for their Wednesday morning meeting and there is a chance they could decide to postpone the season.

The fourth agenda item is all concerning winter sports. Officials will be taking that time to look at guidance documents, the current status of the virus, and health and safety information when it comes to basketball, swimming, wrestling, competitive cheer and dance.

Now, we don’t really have a sense of what kind of decision will come from this meeting, but it is possible the KHSAA pushes the start of the winter season back, something they were reluctant to do over the summer when it came to fall sports.

But we have to take into account that the state is in a much worse position now than we were over the summer. Our positivity rate is significantly higher and more counties than not are in the state’s COVID-19 red designation.
