Lexington City Council expected to vote on no-knock warrant ban

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Lexington City Council could vote on a proposal to ban no-knock warrants today.

The ordinance passed earlier this month by a vote of nine to six.

It’ll get a second reading today.

Multiple racial-justice groups have been pressuring the city to ban no-knock warrants for quite some time now.

We do expect to see members of the council at City Hall this evening ahead of the meeting which is set to start at 6 p.m.
