She was putting gas in her car at Clark’s Pump-N-Shop on Clays Mill Road. When she remembered she had winning scratch-off tickets worth $40 in her car.
She decided to buy a $30 Gold Rush ticket and ended up winning $100,000.
“I put the tickets in my purse and went home. I did a few things around the house and took a break to scratch off the tickets,” she said.
She started to scratch the Gold Rush ticket off when she saw she had matched the number 32 on the first spot on the second row. “I thought at first I had won a hundred dollars but then quickly realized there were more zeroes.”
The Fayette County woman went to show her husband the ticket, who was sleeping.
“I woke him up and told him, ‘I just won $100,000!’ He said, ‘you did not.’ He looked at the ticket and then gave me a high five,” she said.
After taxes, she got a $71,000 check.
Clark’s Pump-N-Shop will receive a bonus of $1,000 for selling the winning ticket.
