LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – 2022 has been a huge year for local comic book conventions, and this weekend, it’s about to get even bigger.

LexingtonCon will kick off at the Clarion Hotel in Lexington this weekend from 10 am to 5 pm. It’ll feature celebrity guests, costume contests, and even gaming competitions.

Organizer Carmine De Santo said his previous convention in Frankfort earlier in the year was very successful because of a drop in COVID-19 cases.

“It’s a good feeling. It’s nice to see the families coming out again. It’s great to see people at the shows. It’s been a difficult 2 years before. It’s great, a good time, it’s nice to see that emotion in people’s faces, that emotion and joy of attending a comic book convention, it’s fun,” De Santo said.

Tickets can be purchased at the door on Saturday.

Carmine will hold another convention in Bowling Green Kentucky on May 22.
