GREENUP, Ky. (WDKY) – A man accused of shooting his girlfriend with a shotgun in eastern Kentucky is now in custody.

WSAZ reports 44-year-old Michael Moore was captured in the Columbus, Ohio area hours after Kentucky State Police announced he was behind the shooting.

Troopers were called to a home in Greenup County early Sunday morning. Detectives say Moore shot 47-year-old Angela Miller in the back with a shotgun before leaving the scene.

Miller was transported to Cabell-Huntington Hospital, where she was treated and released.

Records show Moore is currently in the Franklin County, Ohio jail awaiting extradition to Kentucky.
