Parents file federal lawsuit against FCPS; say their child didn’t get special education help during COVID

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Fayette County Public Schools is facing a federal lawsuit.

A child’s parents say their child didn’t get the special education help they needed while learning from home during the pandemic.

The child attends Tates Creek High School.

The lawsuit claims that during NTI learning, the plan for special education students was not implemented.

The family is asking for compensatory damages and damages for embarrassment and humiliation.

FCPS has requested the lawsuit be dismissed.
