Part of Lexington building falls into road
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) - A building in downtown Lexington is falling apart. A portion of it fell into the road early Thursday morning.
Garbage crews were picking up trash around 3:30 when they noticed the debris.
Crews say the facade near the top of the Lexington Building is crumbling. That building is right across the street from the old courthouse. The building is around 200 years old.
One lane of Short Street near North Upper was shut down for about an hour, but it is now back open.
Lexington Code Enforcement will be examining the building. Right now, they don't think there's a problem with the main structure of the building.
