LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The first day of fall, also known as the autumn equinox, is Wednesday, and starting Saturday, you can head to Eckert’s Orchard to pick pumpkins.

The Versailles pumpkin patch opens Saturday and runs through October 30. Beyond pumpkin picking, it also offers fall activities including bonfire site rentals, haunted wagon rides, and a playground with animals for petting, a 90-foot slide, and push-pedal tractors.

“Eckert’s Orchard is the perfect escape to get back to nature and have a great time with family and friends. In recent years it has become an increasingly popular getaway for couples’ date nights, family outings and everything in between,” says Megan Fields, Eckert’s Orchard Farm Manager. “We are thrilled to watch the community enjoy all of the fun fall activities that we have at our Versailles farm.”

Pick-Your-Own Pumpkins runs Tuesdays through Sundays. Field access passes are $3.30 per person for those two years old and up.

Playground admission is $11 per person Friday through Sunday and $5.50 per person Tuesday through Thursday.

For those interested in a bonfire site, reservations are $55 and can be made on Eckert’s website for Friday and Saturday nights.
