HAZARD, Ky. (WDKY) - A grand jury has indicted a Kentucky man accused of tampering with an assistant police chief's meal at Captain D's.

Court documents obtained by WYMT show Joey D. Ritchie is charged with wanton endangerment after using his bare hands and mouth while preparing rice.

Ritchie is accused of bringing the rice from his bare hands to his mouth and back into the rest of the rice. The grand jury accuses Ritchie of doing it knowing he was serving the rice to police.

The suspect is also accused of using a "dangerous instrument" during the preparation, but the report does not specify what the instrument is.
