Retired Stanford police officer with COVID-19 dies

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56/WKYT) – The Stanford Police Department is mourning the death of retired Detective Tim Morris.

Stanford’s Police Chief told FOX 56 Morris was in the hospital with COVID-19 prior to his death.

In a post on Facebook, the department said Morris retired in December after serving for many years.

Morris was also a substitute teacher and the founding member of Stanford’s local Fraternal Order of Police chapter, according to the post.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fox & Friend Funeral Home in Stanford.

Public visitations will be held 4-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, at Grace Fellowship Church.

The funeral service will be live-streamed on Fox & Friend Funeral Home’s Facebook page.
