RICHMOND, Ky. (FOX 56) — A local organization is doing its part to help pregnant women in need.

More than 100 people attended a fundraising event on Thursday night hosted by the Pregnancy Help Center at EKU’s Center For the Arts.

The goal was to collect money and other resources for pregnant women or couples who find themselves struggling financially.

Supporter J. Taylor Davis said it’s a cause that everyone should support no matter their background or political beliefs.

“There’s so much political rhetoric on one side or the other and I think we should go beyond that and get down to the human side of this which is caring for other humans, caring for other people, and extending resources out to help people who are in need who may be embarrassed, who may be worried about being judged,” said J. Taylor Davis, a supporter of the Pregnancy Help Center.
