Somerset authorities report deadly crash following pursuit on US 27
SOMERSET, Ky. (WDKY) - Authorities in Pulaski County have confirmed there is a deadly wreck on U.S. Highway 27 in Somerset.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet received word from the County 911 about the deadly collision, which occurred near the Bogle Street intersection.
Somerset police say the collision happened because of a pursuit involving another agency. Kentucky State Police will handle the investigation.
The coroner's office has confirmed one person is dead, and another person has suffered life-threatening injuries. It is unknown if any of those individuals are law enforcement officers.
The crash has caused southbound lanes to shut down, and patrol units are assisting with traffic control.
It is unknown how long the lanes will be blocked.
