Victim identified, man arrested in deadly Lee County shooting

BEATTYVILLE, Ky. (WDKY) – One man is behind bars in connection to a deadly shooting at a Beattyville home Saturday morning.

Kentucky State Police say Jeffery L. Kincaid, 50, of Beattyville was shot and killed by Mike Hensley around 10:30 a.m. at the home on Ky. 52. The Lee County Coroner’s Office pronounced Kincaid dead at the scene.

Hensley was booked in the Three Forks Regional Jail, and he is charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Troopers are calling this a death investigation, and it remains an open case at this time.

The shooting appears to be a result of an altercation.
