WHITLEY COUNTY, Ky. – Courtney Taylor is now out of the hospital and in the Whitley County Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police announced on Wednesday afternoon that officers transported Taylor from UK Medical Center to the jail.

Police charged Taylor with three counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder of a police officer. According to state police, the 41-year-old shot her husband, Larry, and her two daughters, Jolie and Jessie on Friday, January 13th. Police found each of the victims dead in separate bedrooms.

According to court documents, a relative visited the Taylor’s home to check on them and saw a body inside. He also spotted Courtney Taylor asleep and armed with a 9mm pistol.

Deputies from the Whitley County Sheriff’s Office then came to the home. When they entered the home, the deputies say they spotted Taylor in the hallway with the pistol in her possession. Deputies say that Taylor raised the gun at them, leading one of the deputies to fire a shot that hit Taylor.

Taylor will be arraigned on the charges against her on Friday in Laurel County because officials appointed a special judge in the case.

Police have not released a motive for the crimes.
