LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Incumbent Linda Gorton and councilmember David Kloiber have advanced in the 2022 Lexington mayoral race.

Before the primary Tuesday, Mayor Gorton spoke with FOX 56 and cited her experience as to why she would succeed in the race; she secured 71.08% of the vote.

Kloiber, who won 14.01% of the vote, will have to challenge Gorton again in November. When he spoke with FOX 56 before the election he said he offered the experience needed for change in Lexington.

“If we want experience at doing the same things, that’s what we already have. But if want to address the problems that have gone under-addressed for so long, then I bring the experience for change,” he said.
