LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56/WKYT) – A Kentucky lawmaker is pushing a bill on universal basic income.
Democratic Rep. Attica Scott pre-filed a measure that would provide individuals with monthly payments of $1,000.
Universal basic income has been successful in some communities with lower payments of $500 a month.
If passed, money from the state budget would cover the payments alongside grants, gifts, and federal funding.
Rep. Scott is currently running for congress in the Louisville area.
