CONWAY, Ark. (FOX 56) – The Eastern Kentucky baseball team has made a grand entrance into the Atlantic Sun conference, in its first season with the league after leaving the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Colonels finished the regular season on Saturday with a win over Central Arkansas to cap off a 20-10 conference record, and 35-19 overall to clinch a share of the ASUN West division title. They share the title with Lipscomb who won on Saturday as well.

Due to expected inclement weather, they moved up Saturday’s game to a 9 a.m. ET first pitch time, 8 a.m. local time to get the game in. Eastern Kentucky grabbed a 7-3 win over the Bears.

The conference foes were tied 3-3 entering the 9th inning when the Colonels scored four runs in the final frame, capped off with a two run home run by Max Williams.

The ASUN tournament starts on Tuesday down in Fort Myers, Florida.
