LEXINGTON, Ky. (WDKY) - Kentucky is in its third week of summer practices, but Tuesday's was the first for Stanford graduate transfer Reid Travis, reported.

Travis had to complete the enrollment process after transferring to UK before being permitted to practice with the team.

Travis lived up to his reputation right away, according to the practice report from His physicality was on display. Apparently, his teammates responded to that, particularly freshman Keldon Johnson. Here's an excerpt from TJ Beisner at

Keldon has already established himself as an alpha dog in the first few weeks of practice and he found himself matched up with Reid for the majority of Tuesday's practice, which created a competitive subplot that was impossible to stop watching. They went at each other when they had the ball. They went at each other harder when they didn't have the ball. They talked trash and knocked each other around, but were also always the first to help each other up. I would've paid money just to watch these two battle for another hour. It was just plain awesome. I can't wait to see how this evolves when PJ Washington returns to practice.

PJ Washington is still out recovering from surgery on his finger.
