Florence forces changes to Georgetown College, Scott County football games
GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WDKY) - Hurricane Florence has caused a domino effect for football games in Kentucky, as two games are being rescheduled.
Georgetown College announced its opponent, St. Andrews University, needed to adjust its schedule for its football game. The North Carolina university will now face the Tigers 7 p.m. Friday as a result.
This resulted in Scott County High School moving its football game against Cincinnati's LaSalle High School to 7 p.m. Thursday.
"It is a great partnership and working relationship that we have with Scott County High School and its athletic department," Georgetown College Director of Athletics Brian Evans said. "Once we got a heads up from St. Andrew that things were changing because of the hurricane, we began working with (Scott County High School Athletic Director) Austin (Haywood) and his staff."
Georgetown College says it had to reschedule a game in 2017 with Southeastern University (Florida) because of a hurricane as well.
