RICHMOND, Ky. (FOX 56) – Basketball season is swiftly approaching and as practices begin, schedules are being finalized.
Eastern Kentucky, predicted to finish second in the Atlantic Sun conference in the media & coaches poll, will open their season at home against Georgetown College on Nov. 9, the team announced Tuesday.
After the tilt with the Georgetown Tigers, the Colonels will host Ohio Valley University on Nov. 11 before traveling to Milwaukee for a Saturday night matchup.
EKU returns home Nov. 16 to host James Madison University, followed by a three-team invitational where EKU plays Albany on Nov. 20, then Eastern Illinois on Nov. 22.
The Colonels will have a shot at some upset bids when they go on the road for the remainder of the month, taking on West Virginia University on Nov. 26 and Radford on Nov. 28. December gets underway with an in-state matchup at Western Kentucky University on Nov. 4, followed by a West Coast road game at the University of Southern California on Dec. 7.
EKU went 22-7 in 2020-21 season.
