PARIS, Ky. (FOX 56) – Both of the George Rogers Clark high school basketball teams are ranked in the top two of the state, and proved why on Tuesday night in a doubleheader at Bourbon County.

The No. 1 ranked Lady Cardinals started the night with a 63-23 win over the Lady Colonels, then the No. 2 ranked boys team followed suit with a convincing 89-45 win.

Back in Lexington, the Henry Clay boys picked up a non-region win against Woodford County, 59-58 on a buzzer beater from Kanye Henderson.

Paul Laurence Dunbar and Lafayette squared off in a 11th region, 43rd district showdown with the Bulldogs pulling out the 79-46 road win on head coach Murray Garvin’s birthday.

Region 11 also saw a key matchup in the 42nd district with Frederick Douglass traveling to Bryan Station. The Defenders held a 2nd half lead but the Broncos fought back to pick up a key road win, 86-83 in a high scoring affair.
