Georgetown men’s hoops off to 3-0 start with win against Midway


GEORGETOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) – David-Reid Alumni Gym has hosted some of the best NAIA basketball in the country so far this season from the Georgetown College men’s and women’s basketball teams.

The men’s team took down Midway on Tuesday night, 78-55 the final score to improve to 3-0 on the season. Kyran Jones put together a dominant double-double with 27 points and 14 rebounds. Derrin Boyd added 16 points.

The Tigers won both games in the month of October, beating Kentucky Christian, 103-68 on Oct. 28 and Miami University Middletown, 113-68 on Oct. 30.

The Georgetown women are also off to a 3-0 start on the hardwood, scoring over 100 points in two of those three wins with a margin of victory of over 51 points!

The men are back in action on Nov. 9 at Eastern Kentucky, while the women travel to Morehead State on Thursday.
