LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Softball is winding down in Kentucky and after Butler’s loss on Sunday in their regional tournament, there will be a new champion crowned this June.

In the 11th region quarterfinals, Lafayette scored six unanswered runs to beat Bryan Station 7-1. Great Crossing was able to run rule Model in the fifth for a 16-5 win, while Lexington Catholic beat Madison Central 5-1. The final of four games in the 11th region saw Scott County blank Western Hills 4-0.

Scott County and Lexington Catholic will play at Western Hills Tuesday night at 6:00pm, followed by Great Crossing and Lafayette in the finale, with an 8:00pm first pitch.

In the 12th region, Boyle County beat Southwestern 11-3 to win the region title for the fifth straight year. The Lady Rebels have secured a spot in the state tournament and will play on Thursday night at 6:00 pm against the Region 11 winner.
