LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The University of Kentucky gymnastics team had a record setting 2021 season, reaching the NCAA regional finals and matching its best score in program history in the process.
The Wildcats are gearing up for the 2022 season and got their first team action going on Sunday with the annual Blue-White exhibition meet at Memorial Coliseum. 18 of this year’s athletes performed a combined 43 routines.
All 24 routines from last year’s squad are back this year, headlined by Bailey Bunn and Raena Worley, who each competed as individuals at the 2021 NCAA championships. Worley was also a 2021 Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association all-american.
Kentucky starts the season on January 5 at Arizona State, and performs in front of its home crowd on January 14 against Georgia.
