LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – Lexington Catholic and Tates Creek have put together two strong starts to the high school basketball season, and they met on the hardwood Monday night.

Catholic entered Monday’s game undefeated at 6-0 while the Commodores entered at 3-1 and got to play this one on their home floor, but it wasn’t enough. The Knights took the 71-55 win to claim their first district win of the year.

Boyle County High School held its home opener in a showdown with Southwestern and took care of business, winning 61-42. The Rebels improve to 4-1 on the young season.

Rebels head football coach Justin Haddix watched in the stands with his state championship ring on his finger as he watched the boys team get the win. His former football players, Luke Imfeld and Jakei Tarter are key pieces of the Rebels team on the court as well.
