LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – After entering the transfer portal on April 7, former Kentucky forward Bryce Hopkins has announced where he will play college basketball next season.

Hopkins announced on his Twitter account that he has committed to play at Providence, posting pictures with the caption “Friar Forever” on Monday afternoon.

The former four-star recruit averaged just two points in about six minutes per game, looking for a bigger opportunity to get more minutes elsewhere and chose to play for Providence, a team that made the Sweet 16 this past March before losing to eventual champion Kansas.

He arrived in Lexington as a strong recruit along with five-star TyTy Washington Jr. and four-star Daimion Collins. Washington declared for the draft and Collins is returning to Kentucky next season.
