LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The University of Kentucky men’s and women’s basketball teams are preparing for Big Blue Madness, the annual celebration introducing both Wildcats teams. Before Friday’s event, the men’s team held its pro day Sunday and Monday at Rupp Arena.

NBA executives from all 30 teams were in attendance on Sunday, with some also in attendance on Monday for a light practice open to the media.

The Wildcats bring back an experienced squad on the men’s side, with two graduate players and seven juniors joining three sophomores and three high-profile incoming freshmen.

On the women’s side, head coach Kyra Elzy enters her second year at the helm with high expectations, returning a number of players that reached the NCAA tournament last year and finished No. 18 in the final AP women’s poll.

Big Blue Madness starts at 7 p.m. on Friday with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. at Rupp Arena and the newly-renovated Central Bank Center.
