LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The hometown kid is moving on. Kentucky quarterback Beau Allen announced he is entering the transfer portal on Wednesday morning.

“I have the utmost respect and gratitude for Coach Stoops, his staff, and all of my coaches during my time a the University of Kentucky,” Allen penned on Twitter.

Allen, a Lexington native and four-star prospect coming out of Lexington Catholic, played sparingly for the Wildcats in two seasons. In five career games, Allen completed 11-of-19 passes for 132 yards, while rushing for one touchdown against New Mexico State during the 2021 season.

“I am forever a Wildcat and I am very excited for the future,” Allen said in his closing line. He will have up to four years of eligibility left if he decides to apply for a COVID waiver.
