LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – After spring practice wrapped up, Kentucky head football coach Mark Stoops was candid in saying they will look in the transfer portal for help, especially in the secondary. Help has arrived in Keidron Smith, a transfer cornerback from Ole Miss.

Kentucky announced the signing on Friday afternoon. “We are very excited to have Keidron join our Wildcat family,” Stoops said. “He is a veteran player who started and saw a lot of snaps at corner and safety in the Southeastern Conference. He’s versatile, he’s intelligent and he’s mature. I like his competitive nature and he’s a great addition to our defense.”

Smith has played in every game over the last four years at Ole Miss, starting 22 of them. He logged 223 tackles and picked off five passes and forced five fumbles over his time.

He will have one year of eligibility left to play for the Wildcats.
