LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The Kentucky men’s basketball program markets itself as a family, and has felt some heartache losing some legendary gentlemen in the last year with Joe B. Hall and Mike Pratt.

A celebration of life was held on Friday afternoon at Memorial Coliseum for Pratt, who was a UK men’s basketball radio color analyst for many years alongside Tom Leach on the UK Sports Network. Leach was the master of ceremonies at the memorial.

John Calipari was in attendance along with the entire current Kentucky team and Pratt’s former teammates Dan Issel and Jimmy Dan Connor. His brother, Patrick, and stepdaughter, Christina Stone also spoke before Calipari brought it home at the podium.

Pratt was inducted into the UK Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009 and the Kentucky Sports Hall of Fame in 2010. He played at Kentucky from 1967-70 and was a second-team All-American in 1970, finishing his career with 1,359 points and 718 rebounds.

Since the 2001-02 season, Pratt had been courtside for every UK men’s basketball game and called the 2012 national championship victory with Leach.

Mike Pratt passed away on June 16 after a battle with colon cancer. He was 73.
